Interviewer: Where did you obtain your academic degrees?
Robert Shindell: I attended the University of Toledo, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education. I then went on to earn my Master’s degree in Training and Development from Midwestern State University. I am currently in the process of finishing my PhD in Higher Education Administration from Texas Tech University.
Interviewer: What roles most shaped your career path and how?
Robert Shindell: Every position I have held has had a deep impact on my career path. Certainly, my time as Director of the Career Management Center at the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University, where I served as the Founding Director, played a huge role in sparking my passion for the field. I was able to work with students, create and implement helpful programs, and work with employers from all across the country, tailoring the programs to specific individual needs. I also became accustomed to the small nuances of candidate placement within university systems, which helped me acquire considerable knowledge on the subject.
Interviewer: What are your core responsibilities as Managing Partner for RCS Enrollment and ILostMyJob.com?
Robert Shindell: At RCS Enrollment, I focus on application management, college selection, financial planning, and first-year support for students making the transition from high school to college. At ILostMyJob.com, I help individuals with the job-search process, which involves advising on how to deal with the stressful nature of job hunting as well as assisting in resume building and information gathering.
Interviewer: Do you support any professional or nonprofit organizations?
Robert Shindell: Yes, in fact, I am a proud supporter of Push America, Livestrong Foundation, and American Red Cross. I also remain very involved with National Career Development Association and Career Development International.
